OPTION TO BUY BOAT AND PLOT, OR BOAT SEPARATELY
This former luxury yacht was originally commissioned in 1973 and instantly conjures images of exotic voyages and glamourous guests that have graced her decks. Now she sits proudly on the shore at Bembridge Harbour under the eye of her current owner. The boat has everything you would expect from a modern home including central heating, master en-suite, triple glazing and modern fitted kitchen. Blue Max remains true to her origins by retaining the original nautical instruments and features.
The boat is constructed in traditional fashion using layered teak which has been laminated on the hull and is secured in its mooring by new steel piles. There are three top decks, one of which is elevated and could be used as a quiet place to sit and enjoy warm summer days.
The upper deck currently provides a bright spacious lounge with 360′ degree windows and a sliding door out to the stern commanding the best view of the entrance to the harbour, with unrestricted views across the Solent to the mainland.
Below deck are four bedrooms (two doubles and two singles) and a study/nook along with a family bathroom and an en-suite to the captain’s quarters (master bedroom). A fitted kitchen and generous family bathroom completes the accommodation. There is plenty of storage on board too with fitted cupboards in the bedrooms and a large open space below the lounge in the former engine room which is accessed by stairs leading down from a hidden trap door.
Just off the stern of Blue Max is a floating pontoon which is ideal for mooring your boat. The mooring also comes with a generous garden area to the front which the owner has recently decked, plus they’ve installed a large workshop complete with power and plumbing which could potentially form as a separate annexe. Blue Max is a truly unique proposition for any purchaser.
The boat can be repositioned within the Harbour as part of a lease arrangement with the Harbourmaster. An annual lease charge of £5,000/annum will be payable to the harbourmaster with longer term leasing arrangements be discussed. There is an option to purchase both the boat (Freehold) and the plot/current mooring (Leasehold) for £265,000. The plot runs on a 99 year lease which commenced in 2005; an annual ground rent is payable to the Harbourmaster of £100.
