Property Description
Opportunity to purchase what is believed to be the oldest working vineyard in Britain. Established in 1968 and set on a site of approximately 10 acres on a south facing slope, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, this life style business produces high quality award winning wines. In 1994 Adgestone Vineyard was chosen to supply the wine for the first course at a D-Day anniversary dinner attended by H.M. Queen.
The current owners have further developed the business with the addition of a gift shop and cafι with the vineyard now attracting approximately 30,000 visitors a year. Bed and breakfast accommodation is offered from the 4 en suite bedroom house.

OUTSIDE
The grounds extend to approximately 10 acres and are accessed from the road by a gravelled driveway leading up to the house and on to the car park. A large open store adjoins the car park and houses equipment required to cultivate the vineyard. Behind the car park are the vines themselves, on a south facing slope of Brading Down from which there are panoramic views out to sea. A further 1½ acres of highly productive vineyard, producing some 5000 bottles per year, approximately1½ miles from the main site could be included in the sale by negotiation.
THE BUSINESS
The vineyard is to be sold fully functioning with all the necessary equipment, plus stock at valuation. A full inventory will be available to interested parties. The vineyard is professionally managed by a winemaker, who will be prepared to continue with a new owner, so no previous experience in the wine making trade is necessary.
Adgestone Vineyard produces two different red wines, a rose, three different whites and two sparkling wines. Most of the wine is sold through the vineyards own outlet but it is also supplied to a number of well known local hotels.
Visitors to the vineyard can enjoy a tour of the cellars, wine tasting and a chance to stroll around the vineyard and enjoy the breathtaking views in this area of outstanding natural beauty. With the cafι, serving light meals, cream teas and home made cakes, plus of course wine, Adgestone Vineyard is an attraction suitable for all the family.
SERVICES
Oil fired central heating and septic tank drainage. Mains electricity and water are connected.
